How I Know The Assembly Parts Are Made Up
by lovelylil inwe had a co looking for a certain experience for an assembly part coming up and the elders in my hall at the time sent him to see me, since i usually had good experiences out in field service.. anyway, after speaking with the co, i was sorry to inform him that i did not have an experience that suited the type he needed.
he told me that was o.k.
because he could use me anyway for another part.

Botzwana - I know you already know this, but you've got a TON of unconditional love and acceptance here in the ex-jw world. I hope that the elders don't give you too much trouble. (((Hugs)))

Why Would YOU Never Go Back To The Witnesses?
by minimus ini think my mains reasons would be i don't believe they have "truth".
and i refuse to allow them control over me..

Beware of false prophets
I like what others have said already ... "I can't unscramble the egg." That was brilliant. Years after walking away and always wondering if it was "The Truth", I chose to take the red pill by doing research online. I wish I had done that so much sooner. If I had, I wouldn't have lived in fear of the end for so long and I would have made better decisions in life. I'll never go back because they abused me by implanting fear in me that didn't go away for years after leaving, because of the way they treat people - how they turn brains into mush, break up families, provide a haven for child abusers, and how they view/treat women. I don't want to waste my time and my life for a lie, but just as a felt when I walked away in the first place - if this is "The Truth" and this is truly God's organization, then most humans are more compassionate than their god, so I'll take my time here on earth and be happy with that. I could never serve their god. (I'm convinced that if the devil exists, he is their god - a wolf in sheep's clothing.)

I'm with edmond on this one. Everything is serious in JW business, so why not show it for what it is - ridiculous!

Do you think a lot of JWs are ashamed of their beliefs?
by I quit! inthe reason i asked this is because i'm going to the funeral of a man who wasn't a jw.
my mother-in-law has lived in the same neighborhood as him for years and knows his wife.
i asked her if she was going attend the funeral service.

"At the same time, however, I desperately wanted to lead a normal life, like everyone else that I saw.
I envied all non-JWs for their not being born in it and it chosen for them, as it was for me.
I have a new answer to anyone who pressures me to get back into it (thanks FB friend:):
I am your loved one, and that will never change, BUT I'm not your performing seal."
That's EXACTLY how I felt! (I was a born-in too.) I would often think to myself "I wish I wasn't born in 'The Truth' so I wouldn't be held accountable for that knowledge."

It's great to know that one more mind has been freed from the mind control of the WT! I've discovered one thing - unconditional love and support abounds in the ex-JW community, so welcome to it!

Beware of false prophets
Not being convinced of every little detail was exactly why I never took the dip. I felt like something was wrong with me for years as a kid. I begged for a sign that it was "The Truth" and never got one, so I decided that I shouldn't be dedicating my whole life to something I secretly had majorly bad feelings about.

Beware of false prophets
I finally got done reading the first thread. Although I come from a completely different JW path, I was a born-in and held the concept of it being "The Truth" deep in my subconscious for a very long time even after I never got baptized and left it behind in my late teens. I was so caught up in making decisions quickly because the end was right around the corner. I made some bad decisions because of that. All I can hope to add to this discussion is the fact that this might have more to do with your need to find the solution quickly than you realize - all on a subconscious level. I totally understand your impatience in the matter, but try to take a deep breath and really think through all of your options and their possible outcomes. My mother recently enough went back to the cult and I was hasty to try to keep her from going back. I doubt that I'll really be able to plant any seeds now and always run the risk that she'll consider me an apostate and shun me because she knows just how I feel about the cult. When finally decided to research the JWs when my mother announced that she was going back, it really opened my eyes. Even though it was a slow process, my subconscious finally stopped thinking as if the end could be tomorrow and I've been able to look forward to doing things with my future years from now.
I also understand your thought process when it comes to God. Some days I feel like God is really there. Other days I just don't know. I have found great comfort in the concept that it can be okay to not know the answers, and to just enjoy the journey. Whatever your journey ends up being, I wish you the best. Even though, knowing the truth about "the truth" comes with some pain, I'm so glad that you are no longer imprisoned by their mind control!

Feb. 15th WT - WT Society says DFed Ones are Lawless- Just Like Demons
by flipper ini would assume that some or a good number of us here as normal humans in this society - consider " lawless " actions to include murder , robbery, extortion, rape, child abuse, war , terrorism, etc.
the wt society has their own definition of what's considered " lawless ".
anything that's considered a disfellowshipping offense in the jehovah's witnesses is now considered " lawless ".

Just for the record, when I posted my previous comment, I thought this thread was only one page long!!! (For some reason it's not showing me the page navigation, and just how many pages there are until I refresh that page.) I have some reading to do, lol!!!

Beware of false prophets
I agree with carla. I remember the stern talks about this from my childhood. It seems like they serve up the same meatloaf all the time. Once in a while they use ground turkey instead of ground beef (which subject they will harp on this time), or they'll change up the flavoring packet added (which fear tactic they want to use this time or the next), once in a while they'll add ketchup on top (new light), etc, etc. It just seems like they go through the same cycles to keep people in, school the newbies, and keep those thinking about leaving in line. Don't get me wrong though, it sickens me every time I hear it being re-hashed, and it means new people get hurt each time they dish out this BS. I agree with everyones comments btw. Great post Mr. Flipper!
